Woman stabbed on path in Fairfax

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A 21-year-old woman has non life-threatening injuries after she was stabbed by an unknown man Thursday morning on a path near Vaden Drive in Fairfax.

The victim says the suspect approached her from behind and stabbed her in the neck, then ran away. He was last seen running toward Blake Lane. The stabbing happened around 7:30 a.m.

She described him as being around 5’7″ with a medium build and a light to medium complexion, of an unknown race and possibly Hispanic. He was wearing a black hooded shirt pulled over his head.

The stabbing took place on a path that parallels Vaden Drive near the intersection of Sprague Avenue. Officers and detectives spent all day canvassing the area, and will be out again Friday morning starting around 7 a.m.
