MONTGOMERY CO. – Police are searching for a suspect who robbed and assaulted a woman in her car in Laytonsville, Maryland this week.

The investigation shows a woman was driving a 2017 Toyota Rav4 Sports Utility when she pulled over in the 23600 block of Laytonville Road to use her phone. She did not realize a car had pulled up and stopped behind her.

While the woman was on her phone, police say an unknown man got out of his car and walked up to hers. She did not open the door, but rolled down the window.

The suspect demanded cash and she complied. Then, he reached through the window to assault her. Once he saw other vehicles approaching, he ran away and got back into his car.

His car is described as a small, black, four-door vehicle, possibly a Mazda. The suspect is described as a black male, of unknown age, 6’ 2” tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown eyes, very short black hair and has a gold upper tooth. He was wearing black jeans and a long-sleeved black T-shirt.

On Thursday, police released a composite of the suspect. Anyone who can identify him should call police at 240-773-6237.
