UPDATE: Police searching for driver in deadly hit-and-run

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO. – Police need your help finding the driver in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Thursday around 7:00 p.m in Oxon Hill.

Police say they were called to the intersection of St. Barnabas Road and Wheeler Road for the report of a pedestrian collision. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.

Investigators are actively working to identify the victim who they say is an African American male approximately in his 30s. Investigators are also working to locate the striking vehicle which fled the scene. It’s described as a white pickup truck that had a ladder on the top or side.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was turning left onto Wheeler Road from eastbound St. Barnabas Road when it struck the victim who was in a crosswalk.
