MONTGOMERY CO. – Police released a composite Monday of a suspect they believe is behind two rapes, an assault and a murder that date back almost 30 years ago in Montgomery County.

Detectives continue to investigate three similar unsolved incidents involving the same suspect:

  • June 25, 1989 around 10:15 p.m. – The suspect approached a 52-year-old woman on Lewis Avenue in Rockville from behind, assaulted her and then raped her.
  • September 19, 1994 around 10:20 p.m. – The suspect approached a 25-year-old victim on Twinbrook Parkway from behind with a knife. Police say the suspect grabbed the woman and dragged her to the side of her home where he attempted to rape her. The woman successfully resisted the assault, fled, and called police.
  • October 3, 1994 – The suspect assaulted, raped, and fatally strangled 42-year-old Le Bich-Thuy at the 1600 block of Martha Terrace in Rockville.

DNA evidence was collected at two of the scenes and were used to create a composite of what the suspect may have looked like at age 25 and 45 using a DNA phenotyping service.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call police at 240-773-5070.
