MONTGOMERY CO. – Montgomery County Police say they are investigating a robbery of a Ride On bus passenger.

The incident happened April 13 in Rockville, and police released surveillance video Friday.

The investigation determined that the suspect and the 34-year-old male victim were sitting next to each other in the back of a Ride On bus which was traveling westbound on East Gude Drive in Rockville.  During the ride, the suspect stole the victim’s wallet.  The victim discovered the theft, attempted to get his wallet back, and struggled with the suspect over the wallet, police say.

The driver stopped the bus due to the struggle, and that’s when, police say, the suspect fled from the bus, and the victim pursued him.

The suspect ran across the street and was struck by green SUV. After getting hit, the suspect continued to flee from the area. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying both the robbery suspect and the vehicle driver.
