Police search for man in kidnapping offense

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police need your help finding a suspect in connection to an attempted kidnapping that occurred Monday in Northwest D.C.

Police say a white male between the age of 50 and 70 tried kidnapping a juvenile this morning around 8:05 a.m. at the 3700 block of Davenport Street, Northwest.

The suspect approached the victim from behind as she was walking to school. Police say the suspect picked her up from the ground, and after a brief struggle, the victim was able to escape and flee the scene.

Police describe the suspect as 5’7″, skinny with a muscular build, and a full gray beard. Police say he was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black boots, and a black hat rolled up on his head.  He may be operating an older black car with tinted windows.
