PGFD conducts several swift water rescues

PRINCE GEORGE'S CO., MD. -- The Prince George's County Fire Department conducted several water rescues Tuesday afternoon as a result of flashing flooding caused by heavy rains.

11 people were rescued from a business and parking lot between Old Ritchie and Ritchie Roads when flooding trapped them on the property. A driver was also rescued from Ritchie Rd. after his car was stuck in the high flood water.

Four people were rescued from a truck that was stuck in high water along Ritchie Marlboro Rd. underneath the Beltway.

One person was rescued from a building in the 6100 block of Suitland Rd. after they were stranded by high water.

No injuries were reported.
