WASHINGTON, D.C. – Children and teens are taking to the page in a new book aimed at understating what is on the minds of students from elementary school to high school.
My Voice Matters is an anthology work assembled by the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In it, 40 students talk about a variety of subjects through short essays, poems and more.
“We got hard conversations about anorexia, about hiding, what’s changed in schools and social justice,” said Nichelle Poe, president of the DC area group.
The book is for sale for around $20 through the group’s website.
