UPDATE: Rivera Colindres and her baby returned home on Feb. 11 shortly before midnight. They were both in good health. Police say they plan to continue to work with the family and provide them assistance as needed.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are concerned for the welfare of a missing teen and her 5-month-old son after new information suggests the teen left home out of fear of the father of her child.

Lizzy Rivera Colindres, 16, and her baby, Aidan Rivera, were last seen on Jan. 14 at their home on Rhoden Court in Springfield. Her mother reported her missing the next morning.

Detectives initially believed Rivera Colindres left voluntarily with her son’s father, Ivan Castillo Rivas, 18. But police now believe she and the baby may be in danger, and that she fled her home in fear of him.

Lizzy Rivera Colindres is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 125 pounds. She has long black hair with light highlights. She wears glasses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective K. Mason (571-585-2378) or Detective M. Fox (571-489-1796) or the Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
