WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man who was stabbed by a Metro employee he punched has died, police say.

The incident happened in the 5200 block of Wisconsin Avenue at the Friendship Heights station in Northwest Monday around 12:20 a.m.

Police say 28-year-old Jeremy Bond, of Rockville, Maryland, was frustrated with Metro delays and entered the station manager’s booth after pounding on the windows. That’s when police say Bond punched a female Metro employee.

Then, police say the employee stabbed Bond.

Bond was taken to a hospital where he later died after all life-saving efforts failed.

Police continue to investigate to determine if the Metro employee has a viable self-defense claim.
