PRINCE GEORGE’S CO. – A 62-year-old man who was assaulted outside of his home in District Heights in January has died from his injuries, police say.

62-year-old Robert Proctor was involved in an argument at his home at the 3300 block of Pumphrey Drive on January 11.

Police say they were not called to investigate until January 24. At the time of the assault, Proctor did not seek medical attention. Officials say Proctor was rushed to a hospital several days later when he showed signs of a brain injury and underwent surgery.

Police say Proctor died April 5 at a rehabilitation center. An autopsy later determined he died from his head injuries and the manner of death was homicide.

Police say they do not believe this crime was random.
