MONTGOMERY CO. – A man is in critical condition after he shot and killed his 89-year-old father and then tried to kill himself, police say.

Police responded to the Park and Ride commuter lot on Norbeck Road Saturday around 4:15 p.m. and found two people shot inside a Prius.

Police say 89-year-old Thomas Willey, of Silver Spring, was found in the passenger seat of the vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thomas’s son, 67-year-old Greg Willey, also of Silver Spring, was found in the driver’s seat with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The investigation shows Grey Willey shot his father before shooting himself. There was also note apparently written by Grey Willey inside the car.

Police continue to investigate.
