Man dies after car plunges into Potomac River

ARLINGTON, Va. – A man is dead after, rescue officials say, his car went into the Potomac River Friday morning.

Rescue crew were on the scene of a vehicle in the water at Columbia Island Marina.

One man was rescued from the vehicle and treated by medical personnel.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition where, officials say, he later died.

No other victims were found in the vehicle.

The car was removed from the water, and D.C. Police remained on the scene to conduct an investigation.
