FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Eight men have been identified as suspected child predators by detectives from FCPD’s Child Exploitation Unit after they ran a sting operation where they posed as children on the Internet.

Detectives posed as juveniles online. Police say “within a very short period of time” they were contacted by adult men with solicitations and sexually explicit images.

The men would ask to meet the child for the purpose of sexual activity. The detectives, posing as the child, would arrange a time and place to meet, and then when the man arrived, he was taken into custody.

They have arrested eight men on charges such as solicitation of a minor, attempted indecent liberties with a minor, and drug possession. So far they have identified seven of those men, with one being withheld due to an ongoing investigation.
