WASHINGTON, DC -- This week's Opening Act is a local Raggae band called KRA (Kurlou Raggae Allstars) playing at the Bukom Cafe in Adams Morgan. Lenroy Salmon AKA Lenny Kurlou, was born in Kingston, Jamaica. In a community engrossed with several top reggae artists, is where his aspirations began to be in the entertainment industry. Those that have influenced Lenny throughout his career are the Almighty GOD, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Sugar Minot, Beres Hammond, Daddy U-Roy and Tenor Saw. He was also the lead singer for the Stryker’s Posse, and the award winning S.T.O.R.M.
Lenny yearned for more, hence Kurlou Reggae Allstars was born June of 2009. While having his own unit, Lenny is also one of the lead singer for the Archives Reggae Band. Though he is busy working with the bands, he also works as a solo artist on many other projects. Francis Paapa Nyarkoh, Grammy Nominated Drummer, was born in Elmina -Ghana, West Africa. As a self -taught musician.
Paapa style combines African rhythms and Reggae with hardcore authenticity. Having toured south America, Australia, southeast Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States, Paapa has worked extensively with many major artists. The Original wailers, Junior Marvin, Magic System, just to name a few. He is now a part of the KRA crew.
