D.C. Police investigating string of sexual abuse crimes

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In the past two weeks, D.C. Police are investigating four different sexual abuse crimes involving women, who were walking at the time, and three happened within just blocks from one another in Northwest.

At this time, police say they do not have evidence to suggest the cases are related, however detectives are exploring all possibilities.

The first incident happened on Monday, August 6th, in the 1400 block of 7th Street, Northwest. An incident report listed the Hodge on 7th Apartments parking garage.

Police say the suspect approached the victim from behind and grabbed her butt. He is caught on surveillance video exposing himself to the victim and committing a lewd act. He then fled the scene.

Suspect in Aug 11th, 1000 block of M Street attack

The second incident happened on Saturday, August 11th, in the 1000 block of M Street in Northwest.

Police say at approximately 11:44 am, the victim was walking when the suspect approached the victim from behind and touched the victim's butt. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera.

Suspect in Aug 15th, M Street SE attack

Across the city on Wednesday, August 15th, at approximately 7:00 p.m., police say a victim was walking on M Street in Southeast when the suspect approached them from behind and touched the victim's butt. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect can be seen in the picture to the left.

On Saturday, August 18th, in the 1200 block of 7th Street in Northwest, at approximately 12:15 am, police say a suspect approached a female victim as she was walking to her residence.

Police say the suspect forced the victim into her residence and sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect in that incident is described as a black male, mid 30’s in age, with a skinny build, wearing a white shirt and dark colored pants.
