PRINCE GEORGE'S CO. - Three men have been charged for the cold case murder of 18-year-old Allyssa Banks that happened in 2016.

Banks had just graduated from Largo High School where she participated in student government, chorus, tennis, and junior ROTC. In October 2016, Banks was shot and later died at the hospital.

Police say they have charged 20-year-old Thomas Jenkins of Riverdale, 23-year-old Daniel Butler of Laurel, and 21-year-old Josue Vasques of New Carrollton in connection to Banks' murder.

Each suspect is charged with first degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives aggressively investigated this case. Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspects who were ultimately charged this week.

The motive is still under investigation, but it is believed that there was an ongoing feud between two local neighborhoods crews. Banks was innocent and had no involvement in the feud. Police say it appears they were randomly targeted.
