3 juveniles arrested for stealing over 50 cell phones on Metro

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Metro Transit Police arrested three juveniles overnight who are accused of stealing several items on Metro including more than 50 cell phones.

Police say they found the cell phones along with phone cases, numerous SmarTrip cards, cash, a pellet gun and specialized tools used to dismantle smart phones at one of the juveniles’ homes.

Two of the three juveniles have been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy. The other was charged with one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy, police say.

Detectives are sharing information with D.C. Police and other local police departments to identify potential links to other open cases. Additional charges are expected.
