ANNE ARUNDEL CO. – A single-vehicle crash claimed two lives Saturday night in Anne Arundel County.

Police say 22-year-old Dustin Smith and 24-year-old Ryan Weibley, both of Edgewater, died after a white Audi A4 drove off an exit ramp in Davidsonville into the woods.

The investigation shows a state trooper located the Audi travelling at a high rate of speed on Route 50 and attempted to make a traffic stop. The trooper lost sight of the vehicle after travelling for about a half mile toward the Anne Arundel/Prince George’s County line. Investigators believe the vehicle was travelling over 100 mph.

Ten minutes later, police say a different trooper responded to a crash off the Route 424 exit ramp and found the vehicle in the woods. Weibley and Smith were found dead at the scene.

Police say Smith was the driver and Weibley was the passenger.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation continues.
