CHEVERLY, Md. – 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey died surrounded by her family Thursday night, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office says.

Willey’s family announced she would be taken off life support Thursday night.

Jaelynn Willey was one of two students shot at Great Mills High School Tuesday, deputies say.

The Sheriff’s Office said the shooting was not a random act. Deputies say the shooter had a prior relationship with Willey that recently ended.

A YouCaring fundraising page has been created to help out the family.
