Two dead in Maryland plane crash

CARROLL COUNTY, MD., – Two people were pronounced dead Saturday morning after a small plane crashed  shortly after take-off from a private air strip in Carroll County, Maryland.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. in the 1200 block of Baugher Road.  The plane was a 2006 Ultralight Quicksilver single engine. Only the pilot and a passenger were on board.

Emergency service responders pronounced the two persons dead on scene. The identities of the victims are not being released at this time pending notification to their families.

A preliminary investigation from police indicates that the plane had just taken off from a private airstrip.  Police are still looking into the cause of the crash.
