Reston doctor charged with assaulting a patient

RESTON, VA., – A local doctor is facing charges after Reston Police determined he had inappropriate contact with an adult male patient during two separate office visits. Dr. Ticoni Barte, 63, of Herndon, practiced at Community Health Care Network in the 1100 block of Washington Plaza West in Reston. The Fairfax County Health Department provides healthcare services through private partnerships with hospitals, as well as health professionals and physicians that are not Fairfax County employees.

The investigation revealed the assaults took place in October and January. Police were made aware of them in February and immediately began investigating. Barte is charged with two counts of assault and his license to practice medicine is currently being suspended. He turned himself in Saturday, and has been released on $10,000 bond.
