Murder and attempted suicide in Silver Spring Maryland

MONTGOMERY CO., – Montgomery County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in a parking lot on Norbeck Road that they believe is an attempted murder suicide.

Police have released the identity of the two men. Thomas Willey, 89, lived in a nearby Leisure World apartment with his son, Thomas “Greg” Willey, 67.   Investigators believe at that Greg Willey shot his father before shooting himself around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The males had apparent gunshot wounds; and one of the men was deceased.  The male in the driver’s seat, Greg Willey, was transported in critical condition for treatment at a local hospital.

A note believed to have been left by Greg Willey was recovered from inside the Prius.  A handgun was also located close to Greg Willey inside the car.
