The holidays came early this weekend at National Harbor’s Gaylord Resort, as the hotel kicked off its annual Christmas on the Potomac.  Between now and January, it could likely be one of the best places to jump into the holiday spirit.

In what has become a tradition for the resort, National Harbor is once again showcasing ICE! an elaborate ice sculpture exhibit that  embraces a classic holiday theme.  This year, the display pays homage to the magical poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

This winter wonderland is under a tent by the resort’s waterfront.   Inside, temperatures drop to 9 degrees to protect the nearly 2 tons of handcrafted ice sculptures, created by 40 master artisans from China.  Visitors are given big blue parkas to stay warm – but don’t forget your own gloves!

However, the magic doesn’t stop there.

During specific dates in December, you can enjoy a decadent brunch with Santa at POSE Rooftop Lounge. Children will get to unload their holiday list on St. Nick while the parents can enjoy a stunning view over the Potomac.

The resort also offers children a chance to make their own gingerbread home, and of course, take it with them.

A dash of holiday magic, right in your very own backyard!

The event runs through January 5th.   To learn more, you can go to:
