We were fortunate enough to get invited to the premiere of Amazon Original’s new film The Report, staring Adam Driver and Annette Bening. The film follows the true story of Daniel Jones (whom we interviewed) and the Senate Intelligence Committee as they investigated the use of torture by the CIA in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
The film’s director Scott Z. Burns was excited to tell us all about how he assembled the star studded cast and recreated exquisite visages of various D.C. landmark buildings. Overall the film covers over a decade of intelligence by Jones and the committee all of which is retold through dazzling cinematography and incredible performances. Driver brings the film home as it largely focuses on his story, the piece is a rare character study, slightly less rare today in the wake of controversial though unmistakable success’ like Joker.
In our interview with both Director Scott Burns, and main subject of the film Daniel Jones, we were able to exclusive info into the severity of material they were handling. Be sure to watch the full interview below, and catch ‘The Report’ streaming on Amazon Prime beginning November 29.
