Buffalo Billiards Closes after 10.9 Million Beers!
After a quarter of a century, Buffalo Billiards, a Dupont Circle local watering hole will open its doors for the last time August 24th.
Both Buffalo Billiards and The Front Page are closing after lease negotiations fell through with their landlord WeWork.
For the people with great memories cultivated at Buffalo Billiards, they are auctioning off everything you could think of! Arcade Machines, DJ Equipment, Suffle Boards, TVs, Bar and Kitchen Equipment are on the table.
Some of the Proceeds from the auction will go to the profit So Others May Eat.
Buffalo Billiards was founded by Geoff Dawson and Mark Handwerger in 1994.
As for the numbers, Buffalo Billiards claim:
- 10.9 million beers sold;
- 78,000 kegs emptied;
- 1.7 million games of pool played;
- 72,500 burgers eaten;
- $8 million in rent paid;
- $8.4 million in D.C. sales tax paid;
- 782 employees;
- 104,125 hours open;
- 3,091 college football games watched;
- $13.1 million in total staff tips;
- 6,053 private parties.
