Arrow Comes to an End with Eighth Season

The CW’s Arrow will likely come to an end with season eight, which will consist of ten episodes.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the executive producers of the show stated, “This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind…. We’re heartened by the fact that Arrow has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and — more importantly — the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.” Executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz.

The series star Stephen Amell made an announcement on Twitter yesterday, March 6th:

Mark Pedowitz, CW president, launched Arrow in the hopes of broadening the network’s audience beyond young female viewers. Additionally, Arrow launched a DC Comics franchise on the CW, which includes Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl, Black Lightning, and more. Look out for more updates for current and future CW shows!
