WASHINGTON, D.C. - This weekend's Opening Act is Matt Woods, a Knoxville, Tennessee based songwriter. Woods says he doesn't like to put a label on his music, but some would refer to it as Outlaw Country or Americana.

Woods' latest release is the introspective album titled "How To Survive." The self-produced How To Survive was recorded in Knoxville, Tennessee at Shed 55 Studios and features the talents of quite a few notable musicians such as Aaron Lee Tasjan on electric guitars, Jeremy Mackinder (Whitey Morgan and the 78s and Deadstring Brothers) on bass.

Woods performed at Pie Shop, home to delicious savory and sweet pies. Customers can also order beer and wine with their pies. Click here to check out the menu.
