Arlington Police searching for rape suspect

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is searching for a man suspected of raping a victim on Monday.

Police say they responded to the 5500 block of Columbia Pike just after 4 p.m. for the report of a rape that happened earlier.

The investigation shows the victim met the man through an online advertisement and arranged a service. When they met up, police say the suspect physically assaulted and raped the victim. Then, he fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male, around 60-years-old, 5’10”, 6’0″ with a medium build. He has brown eyes and dark short curly hair with some gray. He was wearing a bright blue shirt with a tan collar, khaki pants, tan shoes and carrying an umbrella at the time of the incident.

Detectives believe this was a targeted attack. The investigation continues.
