PRINCE GEORGE’S CO. – Over 100 residents are now without a home after a 3-alarm fire ripped through a Lanham apartment complex Monday.

About 125 firefighters responded to the 5300 block of 85th Avenue for several garden style apartment buildings on fire.

Officials say the fire extended through the roof of 4 buildings and at one of the buildings, the roof partially collapsed.

Water issues hampered firefighters’ operations, but they were able to put out the fire within a few hours.

Fire officials say no one was injured, but about 132 occupants in 44 apartments are now displaced.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
