WASHINGTON, D.C. – Multiple people were taken to area hospitals Thursday for K2 overdoses.

Officials say several people overdosed on the synthetic marijuana at an Anacostia neighborhood park.

Fire and rescue officials did not confirm an exact number of victims, but reports indicate it could be dozens.

Mayor Muriel Bowser took to Twitter to remind the public that ingesting K2 could lead to death.
