PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – Police are searching for a man who assaulted a bus driver in Woodbridge Tuesday.

Officers responded to the intersection of Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway to investigate an assault aboard a Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) bus driver.

A 55-year-old man told police he was driving the bus when he saw a man running alongside the bus. Police say when the bus stopped at an intersection, the man started banging on the bus and demanded that the door be opened.

When the driver refused, the man kicked out one of the lower windows on the bus door, reached inside and opened the door. The suspect sprayed the driver with an unknown substance causing minor injuries and then fled.

Police released photos of the suspect Wednesday and are asking for the public’s help identifying him. He is described as a dark skinned male, in his 30’s, 6’0″, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect is asked to call police at 703-792-7000.
