ST. MARY’S CO. – The body of a missing swimmer was found in a St. Mary’s County river Sunday.

Deputies say 20-year-old Manuel Romero, of Alexandria, Virginia, was reported missing by family members while they were at Myrtle Point Park Saturday.

As the family was preparing to leave the park, they could not find Romero. Officials began searching for Romero in the Patuxent River and on land.

Around 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, officers recovered Romero’s body from the water in the 24000 block of Half Pone Point Road in Hollywood, Maryland.

Deputies say there is no foul play suspected at this time.
