WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man is accused of attempting to cut a victim with a knife after saying he “doesn’t like illegal immigrants,” according to D.C. Police.

Police say the incident happened Tuesday around 10 p.m. in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street, NW.

The victim told police the man started saying he does not like illegal immigrants while pointing to the victim.

Police say the victim told the man he was not an illegal immigrant. The suspect then told the victim to shut up and said, “I don’t like you and I am going to kill you.”

That’s when, police say, the suspect pulled out a knife and tried to cut the victim. The victim ran away and around a bus stop twice while the suspect was chasing him.

Eventually, the suspect fled the area.
