D.C. firefighter arrested for crashing ATV in Chinatown

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A D.C. firefighter was arrested and charged after, police say, he illegally rode and crashed an ATV on public roads.

22-year-old Dearay Wilson crashed the dirt bike into another vehicle in the 700 block of 7th Street, Northwest in Chinatown on Sunday.

Police say an officer arrested Wilson and charged him with operating an all-terrain vehicle in a public space.

Wilson is employed by D.C. Fire and EMS as a firefighter. Fire officials say Wilson has worked at the department for over a year.

At this time, Wilson is on administrative leave.
