UPDATE: Man arrested for kidnapping, assaulting victim with gun, then stealing victim’s money

WASHINGTON, D.C. – 22 year-old Jesse Benjamin Nunn was arrested and charged with armed kidnapping Monday.

Police are searching for a suspect wanted in an armed kidnapping that happened in Northwest, D.C. last month.

On July 14 around 11:30 p.m., police say the 22-year-old Benjamin Nunn approached the victim at the 1300 block of U Street, NW.

The victim willingly entered a vehicle with Nunn. Once inside the vehicle, police say Nunn assaulted the victim with a handgun and stole the victim’s property while a second suspect drove the vehicle.

Police say the victim was driven to several locations where the victim’s money was withdrawn by the suspects. Eventually, the victim was able to exit the vehicle.

The victim went to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Nunn is described by police as a Black male, 5’6″, and 160 pounds. Nunn is wanted on a United States District Court arrest warrant in connection with this offense.
