GWU to close buildings during “Unite the Right” rally

WASHINGTON, D.C. – George Washington University will close three buildings during the “Unite the Right” rally in D.C. Sunday.

The GW Hatchet reports The Lerner Health and Wellness Center, Marvin Center and Gelman Library will be closed Sunday, according to an email sent out by school officials.

The Foggy Bottom campus will likely be affected by traffic delays, security barriers, restricted access to parts of campus and delays on the Vern Express shuttle.

GW Hatchet also says GW Police are working with D.C. Police on a security plan, and students should expect significant police presence on and around campus.

“Unite the Right” participants will be riding the Metro into Foggy Bottom and proceed to March to Lafayette Square.

For a list of roads with limited or closed access, check out the traffic advisory.
