Police are investigating a robbery where three suspects pepper sprayed and cut employees while attempting to steal wigs from a beauty store.

The incident happened Friday at Esther’s Beauty Salon/Supplies at 9309 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring around 6:50 p.m. Police released surveillance video of the robbery Wednesday in hopes someone may recognize and identify the suspects.

The three suspects entered the store and attempted to steal wigs. A 74-year-old man and a 59-year-old female employee tried to prevent the theft. During that struggle, police say they were assaulted and pepper sprayed by the suspects. The male employee received a cut to his head.

Both employees were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspects fled the store with one wig.

Anyone who may recognize any of the suspects is asked to call police at 240-773-5070.
