D.C. Little League team raising money for World Series

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A D.C. Little League baseball team just made history.

The team with the Mamie Johnson Little League, which was only created three years ago, became the first all African-American Little League team to win the D.C. championships.

The team took their title on July 24 after beating Capitol Hill Little League 14-7 in the final game.

Now, the team is asking for your help to get to Bristol, Connecticut for the Little League World Series Mid Atlantic Regional.

They are asking for donations which will help defray the cost of travel and uniforms for the players and families.
