7 men steal up to $30,000 worth of Gucci from department store

MONTGOMERY CO. – Police are investigating a robbery that happened in Chevy Chase, Maryland Tuesday where seven men allegedly stole up to $30,000 worth of merchandise from the Gucci store.

Police say officers responded to the Gucci store inside Saks Fifth Avenue at the 5500 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 11:35 a.m. for the report of a robbery.

The investigation shows two of the suspects entered the Gucci area of Saks and assaulted two employees. Then, police say five additional suspects entered the store and started stealing merchandise from display cases.

Police say the men stole about $20,000 to $30,000 worth of items before fleeing the store. They drove off in two passenger vehicles. Both cars were last seen southbound on Wisconsin Avenue entering D.C.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.  Additional details, to include any description of the suspects, will be released as they are confirmed.
