2 gun traffickers arrested after police seize 9 firearms

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police arrested two gun traffickers after seizing nine illegal firearms in D.C.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives (ATF) identified a gun trafficker at a gun show in Virginia who was buying guns destined for D.C. The ATF notified D.C. Police.

Police say members of the Gun Recovery Unit conducted a traffic stop Friday in the 600 block of Mellon Street, Southeast where they recovered four illegal firearms.

Further investigation shows an additional five illegal guns were recovered at a home in the 3900 block of 4th Street, Southeast.

Police arrested 27-year-old Isaiah Green and 28-year-old Jazmin Wilburn, both of Southeast, D.C., Friday and charged them with Carrying a Pistol without a License (Outside Home or Place of Business), Possession Of Unregistered Firearm/Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession Of Unregistered Ammunition.
