Mother stabs teen girl to defend daughter in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A mother stabbed a teenage girl Tuesday night after the girl was involved in an argument with the woman’s daughter.

Police say the argument happened in a courtyard in the 200 block of V Street, Northwest around 11:15 p.m.

The mother then stepped in to defend her daughter.

Police say the mother and the teen squared up as if they were about to fight. While in the fighting stance, police say the mother took out a knife and swung at the victim.

The mother ended up slicing the teen’s left hand.

Police say the mother fled the area. The teen girl suffered minor injuries.
