Suspect wanted for fatally shooting man in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in Southeast, D.C.

48-year-old Xavier Dunmore, of Southeast, is wanted by police for a fatal shooting that occurred June 10 in the 700 block of 12th Street, SE.

Officers responded to a residence around 6:45 p.m. and found 40-year-old Wykeena Ferguson, of Southeast, unconscious and unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Fire and EMS crew also responded to the scene and found that Ferguson showed no signs of life.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Dunmore. They say Dunmore is wanted on an arrest warrant for second degree murder while armed.

Police describe Dunmore as a Black male, 6’2″ tall, 280 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Police say Dunmmore should be considered armed and dangerous.

The police department is offering up to $25,000 to anyone who offers information that leads to an arrest and conviction of Dunmore.
