MONTGOMERY CO. – A truck driver was killed at a Montgomery County weigh station after his truck rolled over top of him while he was under the vehicle attempting to fix the brakes, police say.

58-year-old James Hobbs, of Salisbury, Maryland, was at a weigh station Friday around 11:30 a.m. when his tractor-trailer was placed out of service for brake violations.

Then, investigators say Hobbs went underneath the truck to attempt to make adjustments to the brakes.

However, police say Hobbs did not engage the parking brake on the vehicle.

While Hobbs was under the tractor-trailer, police say the vehicle rolled back and over him. Hobbs was declared dead at the scene.

Police say no one else was injured.
