ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Tuesday was election day for the Maryland Primary and residents voted on candidates for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, Maryland State Senate, House of Delegates, and other elected local offices that vary by county.

With all polls in the state officially closed, results are starting to come in.


  • Incumbent Governor Larry Hogan ran unopposed and will face the Democratic candidate in November.

U.S. Senator

  • Incumbent Ben Cardin wins the Democratic nomination with over 80 percent of the vote.

U.S. House of Representatives

  • Elijah Cummings wins the Democratic primary in District 7.
