FAIRFAX CO., – Police have reported that they are now conducting a death investigation in the case of missing Northern Virginia Teen, Raymond McGavin.

McGavin was originally reported missing last Sunday after attending a U2 concert in D.C.

Fairfax Police have said they are suspending their search and focusing on the death investigation. They say no foul play is suspected at this time.

McGavin’s mother, Annemaire Gilmore McGavin posted on her Facebook page saying,

“Our son is at peace. We are grateful to all who provided their help in locating Raymond. At this time, not all of our family members have been notified, so we would ask for some privacy. We take great comfort in knowing how much Raymond was loved and how so many in his and our lives provided assistance, love and care. Please keep us, particularly our other sons, in your prayers.”

According to Mcgavin’s family via Facebook, after the concert he had missed the last Metro train to Springfield but at 11:30 p.m. had texted saying he had found a way home. Around 1 a.m. Monday McGavin had posted a Snapchat video of himself walking near some train tracks, but did not specify where he was.
