CHARLES CO. – The Charles County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the murder of an unidentified woman whose decomposed body was found in Bel Alton, Maryland on June 16, 1998.

The woman has remained unidentified for 20 years. Deputies released new sketches Tuesday of what the woman may have looked like in 1998 in hopes of identifying her and finding her killer.

Deputies say the woman’s body was found in an overgrown area off Irving Road. The Medical Examiner’s Officer determined the woman died of homicide.
