3 overnight shootings in D.C. leave 1 dead, 4 injured

WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C. Police are investigating three shootings that occurred in the District overnight that left one man dead and four others injured.

  • Wednesday around 11:50 p.m., two men were shot in the 3500 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. Both were taken to a hospital. It is unclear what the conditions of their injuries are at this point.
  • Thursday around 1:30 a.m., police say officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in the 100 block of Ivanhoe Street, Southwest. Police did not give any additional details.
  • Thursday around 1:35 a.m., one man, identified by police as 23-year-old Dontae Mitchell, was shot at a gas station in the 1000 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast. Mitchell was taken to a hospital where, officials say, he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made in any of these crimes.
