WASHINGTON, D.C. – Five people were rescued, and one person is still unaccounted for after a boat overturned in the Potomac River Monday, officials say.

A workboat overturned beneath the Key Bridge sending six people into the water.

Officials say five of those people were removed and uninjured and one is still missing.

D.C. Fire and Rescue say the rescue transitioned into a recovery operation. The D.C. Police Department has now taken over the scene.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the missing individual,” said D.C. Fire and EMS in a tweet.
