Police investigating after human remains found in Columbia

HOWARD CO., – Howard County police posted on their Facebook that they are investigating after a landscape worker discovered human skeletal remains in a wooded area in Columbia.

Officers were called to the 12200 block of Green Meadow Drive around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon and were able to confirm the remains were human. The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.

No additional information, including the identity of the deceased, or indication of how long the remains have been there, are known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
